Uses: Shellac is used as glazing agent, chocolate, confectionary, orange fizzy drinks, orange skin, medications. It was also used in electrical wiring because of insulation and even in 1950’s ‘vinyl’ records.
Can be used by all religious groups and vegetarians. Vegans generally avoid the product as there are still lice in the raw product. These are eliminated during purification.
Description: Shellac is derived from the Lac insect of India. It can then be mixed with ethanol to produce liquid shellac which is used as a lacquer for furniture, colorant and food glaze.
