In animal tests before being accepted in Australia, they showed detrimental effects to the thalamus glands, liver and kidney enlargement, and renal mineralisation.


The manufacture of sucralose can contain small amounts of heavy metals, arsenic and methanol and because it passes through the body unchanged, it may have an affect on the environment.

It is also suspected to have anti-fertility and neurotoxic effects



Description: Artificial sweetener 600 times sweeter than sugar. Sucralose is produced by chlorinating sugar (sucrose).


This involves chemically changing the structure of the sugar molecules by substituting three chlorine atoms for three hydroxyl groups
