Dangerous Caution Safe

Uses: Neotame, is marketed as an artificial sweetener and table top sugar substitute. It is made by NutraSweet which is owned by Monsanto.

There have been no data safety sheets provided for Neotame so it is almost impossible to rate. However, if it is based on Aspartame, symptoms would include:

Headaches/migraines, dizziness, seizures, nausea, muscle spasm, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, vision problems, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, vertigo, tinitus, memory loss and joint pain.

Forgetting the base being Aspartame, the symptoms of 3,3 dimethylbutyl are:

Headaches/migraines, dizziness, nausea, irritation to lungs and eyes, highly flammable.

Description: Neotame, is an artificial sweetener which is said to be a massive 13,000 times sweeter than sugar and even 30 times sweeter than Aspartame.

It shares the same structure as Aspartame with the addition of 3,3 dimethylbutyl. Because of this slight addition, people who may otherwise have been allergic to phenylalanine can now take neotame with similar properties.
