Uses: Microcrystalline Waxes uses are chewing gum ingredient, for dried fruits, fruit gums and jellies, sealant, glazing agent, de-foamer, food processing machine lubricant, protective coating on fresh vegetables and fruit, lubricant and binder for tablets and capsules.
Used also on sweets, in processing yeast, vitamin tablets, dried fruit, confectionary, collagen.
Listed as having teratogenic properties probably responsible for bowel cancer and can cause defects. May inhibit absorption of fats and fat soluble vitamins, mild laxative. Tests on rats exhibited an oily unkempt look and suffered hair loss, while humans suffered from defatted skin and signs of irritation.
Description: Hydrogenated Poly-1-Decene are mineral oil hydrocarbon liquids which are fully hydrogenated oligomers of decene-1. They are a synthetic mixture of hydrocarbons.
As they are mostly petroleum based, they would be toxic by way of ingestion long term.
